In the lives of Anna and Bob Bolster

I so over blogged that day…

May 4, 2006 |

Sorry about the boring blogs, friends. I just kept blogging (as you can notice, it was all on the same day) and I have learned my lesson not to do boring blogs. My friends the Meltons called me like it was an emergency to get me out of the house. Can’t say I didn’t mind though - I always have good times with them…

Bob and I are planning on getting a new camera this weekend, and then I will have to post pictures of our apartment, and my new workspace. It was recently redesigned with a cheap “as- is” shelf from Ikea. I now actually have room on my desk to work! Wahoo!

Bob is still working out on the east coast, and will be there for what feels like forever. Honestly, it’s been so long I think that I have forgotten how to cook. If you have any tips for the forgetful, post a comment! :)

Tyson would suggest warming a can of chili, topping it with cheese, and microwaving until warm. (Or maybe that was his pre-marriage years?) Shaun would suggest ordering a pizza? My crowd pleaser is still fried rice with cream cheese wontons. Oh how easy it is to impress the Americans. Haha. But really, I do like the Rachel Ray ready in 30 minute meals. I can actually cook them in 30 minutes and they taste good!

Anna, did I ever tell you my abuelito’s unbeatable cooking method? Simple: Just take whatever meat product you have in the fridge, throw it in a frying pan with an excessive amount of canola oil and homemade salsa, and voila! He makes it a point to always add re-refried frijoles and avocado too.

(Note that by ‘unbeatable’ I mean that such a meal has the power to beat your taste buds and arteries down to nothingness. But then that’s the Mexican charm, isn’t it?)
